HULK vs THOR

Thought I'd post a few 'work in progress' pics of a commission I'm working on...it's a pretty big piece, 30" in height. Anyway, here's the first 3 pics!

 Step one is the underpainting wth the background, a basic summer day blue painted in...

 Here you can see the stonework being painted in...I mix all the colours, I think the variety of changes across the background will give it a little more realism than using the colours straight out of the tube.

And the background before I paint the main figures. I need to add in some motion blurs and ore bits of rock but I'll do that when the Hulk has been painted in. I'll be better able to see where needs it then...
